Foothills Weather
A weekly Friday note from the Colorado foothills — part forecast, part reflection, and part quiet appreciation for the way seasons, skies, and small moments keep us grounded.
Autumn’s showing off again in the foothills. Cloudy skies, golden leaves, and just enough chill to feel like home.
Just as Texas coastal residents take a drive to the beach to see the waves and hear the roar, mountain folk head out to the wide valleys to witness nature’s autumn spectacle — the explosion of color that marks the changing of the leaves.
Eschewing meat this Friday, I grabbed a Fish Fillet sammich for lunch and noticed the local neighborhoods putting on their own dazzling display of fall foliage — a painter’s palette of golds, reds, and fading greens.
Lunch and leaves, all within a dozen miles.
Mostly cloudy to end the week, with light rain chances today and tomorrow at 10% and 20% respectively. Sunday brings a pleasing fall mix of sunshine and clouds. Morning lows around 53°, warming to 75° in the afternoon, humidity hovering in the mid-40s.
The Cowboys sit at .500 after five games — taking bets on when that’ll happen again in our lifetimes.
Noon (11AM MDT) kickoff Sunday at Carolina.
